New Mexico State Aggies

The New Mexico State Aggies play in the raucous Pan American Center in Las Cruces, long considered one of the toughest true road environments in college basketball. Now in Conference USA after a long run in the WAC, the Aggies have a history of high-major upsets that belies their mid-major status. New Mexico State's fan base is famously loud, giving the program a genuine home-court edge.

New Mexico State basketball dates to 1904 and reached its high point with a Final Four appearance in 1970. The Aggies have made 26 NCAA Tournament appearances overall, including a run of four straight bids from 2011 to 2015 with second-round wins in each of those seasons. In 2022, New Mexico State delivered a signature upset, knocking off fifth-seeded UConn as a 12-seed. The program has spent stretches in the Sun Belt, WAC, and now Conference USA, but its history of tournament-stage giant-killing has remained constant.
