The Utah Valley Wolverines play their home games at the UCCU Center in Orem, bringing high-energy, up-tempo basketball to Utah County. As members of the Western Athletic Conference, the Wolverines have built a reputation as a scrappy mid-major capable of knocking off power-conference opponents on any given night. UVU's rapid rise from community college to Division I is central to how the program sees itself: an underdog program that refuses to play like one.
Utah Valley is the only program in NCAA history to move directly from the NJCAA to Division I, completing the jump in 2003 and gaining full Division I status by 2009. The Wolverines joined the Western Athletic Conference in 2013 and reached their first WAC tournament final in 2025. Their biggest national moment came in 2023, when the Wolverines strung together upset wins over New Mexico, Colorado, and Cincinnati to reach the NIT Final Four in Las Vegas.
