The Tulsa Golden Hurricane play at the Reynolds Center, bringing American Athletic Conference basketball to northeastern Oklahoma. Under Eric Konkol, the Golden Hurricane aim to build on the program's tournament tradition. Tulsa's blue and gold colors and Reynolds Center create a competitive home environment. The program has reached three Sweet 16s and made 15 NCAA Tournament appearances.
Tulsa reached the Elite Eight in 2000 under Bill Self, who used Tulsa as a springboard to his Kansas dynasty. The Golden Hurricane also reached the Sweet 16 under Nolan Richardson in 1982 and Tubby Smith in 1997. Steve Harris and Paul Pressey are among the program's NBA alumni. Tulsa's 2000 NIT championship highlighted another successful season.
