UNC Asheville Bulldogs

The UNC Asheville Bulldogs represent the University of North Carolina Asheville, playing home games at Kimmel Arena in the Blue Ridge Mountains. As one of the Big South Conference's most consistently successful programs, the Bulldogs have built a reputation as the league's model of stability, regularly punching above their weight against bigger-budget rivals. Nestled in the artsy, outdoorsy city of Asheville, the program draws a passionate regional following used to seeing March Madness banners go up.

UNC Asheville has been the Big South's gold standard, winning eight regular-season conference championships (1997, 1998, 2002, 2008, 2012, 2017, 2018, 2023) and six tournament titles (1989, 2003, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2023). Those tournament crowns have produced five NCAA Tournament appearances, most recently in 2023, when the Bulldogs went 27-7 before falling to UCLA in the first round. The program's sustained success has made it the benchmark other Big South schools measure themselves against.
