History & Legacy
Liberty reached the 2019 NCAA Tournament as the Atlantic Sun champion, defeating Mississippi State in the first round for the program's first tournament victory. The Flames have made multiple tournament appearances. Seth Curry played at Liberty before transferring to Duke. The program's move to Conference USA in 2023 elevated its competition level.
