The High Point Panthers represent High Point University in North Carolina's Piedmont Triad, playing home games in the striking Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena. Long a Big South also-ran, High Point has rapidly transformed into one of the conference's rising powers behind a heavily-invested athletics program and a modernized campus. The Panthers have become one of college basketball's best recent Cinderella stories, going from zero NCAA Tournament appearances to consecutive trips in short order.
High Point joined Division I in 1999 but went decades without reaching the NCAA Tournament. Under head coach Alan Huss, the program broke through by winning back-to-back Big South regular-season titles in 2023-24 and 2024-25, adding the 2025 conference tournament crown for the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament bid. High Point delivered again on March 19, 2026, when 12th-seeded High Point upset 5th-seeded Wisconsin 83-82 for the program's first NCAA Tournament win.
