TCU Horned Frogs

The TCU Horned Frogs bring purple pride to Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, a private-school program that has punched well above its size in Texas's crowded football landscape. TCU has built a national reputation for aggressive, attacking defenses and opportunistic offenses under a series of accomplished head coaches. The Horned Frogs' 2022 run to the College Football Playoff national championship game reintroduced the program to a new generation of fans.

TCU has played football since 1896 and won national championships in 1935 and 1938, the latter behind Heisman Trophy winner Davey O'Brien. The program later built a modern powerhouse under coach Gary Patterson, whose "4-2-5" defense and steady winning produced more than a decade of ranked finishes and a share of the 2014 Big 12 championship. TCU capped a Cinderella 2022 season under first-year coach Sonny Dykes with a Fiesta Bowl upset of Michigan and a trip to the national title game, falling to Georgia.
