The Buffalo Bulls play Mid-American Conference football at UB Stadium in western New York. The University of Buffalo formed its first football team in 1894, coached by former Harvard player Frank Butterworth. Buffalo moved up to Division I FBS in 1998 and joined the Mid-American Conference, capturing its first MAC championship in 2008 with a rout of unbeaten Ball State. The Bulls have since made additional MAC title game appearances in 2018 and 2020.
