The Ohio Bobcats are the Mid-American Conference's lone remaining charter member, playing home games at historic Peden Stadium in Athens. With a football history stretching back to the 1890s, Ohio has built one of the league's deepest championship traditions, including a return to the top of the conference as recently as 2024.
Ohio University's football program dates to 1894 and became a charter member of the Mid-American Conference when it formed in 1946. The Bobcats won the 1960 UPI small-college national championship while going undefeated at 10-0, and have claimed six total MAC championships, most recently in 2024. Before joining the MAC, Ohio also won six Buckeye Athletic Association titles in the 1920s and 1930s.
