New Mexico Lobos

The New Mexico Lobos are the football program of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, playing their home games at University Stadium in the high desert of the Southwest. New Mexico first fielded a football team in 1892, making it one of the older programs in the Southwest. The Lobos have called the Border Conference, Skyline Conference, Western Athletic Conference, and now the Mountain West home over the decades, picking up conference titles along the way in 1938, 1962, and 1963, plus a Mountain Division crown in 1997. The program has produced periodic bowl runs but has more often battled for Mountain West relevance, with its identity built on resilience through frequent coaching changes.
