The UNLV Rebels play their home games at Allegiant Stadium, the state-of-the-art NFL venue on the Las Vegas Strip — one of the most unusual and glamorous home fields in college football. A historically overlooked program in a city built for entertainment, UNLV has increasingly leaned into the Vegas spectacle as part of its identity, using the Raiders' stadium to sell a big-time gameday experience. The Rebels' scarlet and gray colors now share a stage with bright lights and a rapidly rising local recruiting pipeline.
UNLV's football program began play in 1968 and became a founding member of the Mountain West in 1999 after stops in the Big West and WAC. The Rebels' 1984 conference championship was later vacated by the NCAA for use of ineligible players, leaving a share of the 1994 Big West title as the program's first title it was actually allowed to keep. Long an also-ran nationally, UNLV has used its move into Allegiant Stadium to reset expectations and pursue a higher competitive ceiling.
