Overview
The Robert Morris Colonials play their home games at Joe Walton Stadium in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, named for the coach who built the program from scratch. Blue and gray, Robert Morris has been one of the Northeast Conference's most consistently successful football programs since fielding its first team in the mid-1990s, with a run of early championships that set the tone for the school's athletic identity.
History & Legacy
Robert Morris started its football program in 1993-94 under founding coach Joe Walton, who led the Colonials to the league's first five Northeast Conference championships from 1996 through 2000, including a perfect 10-0 season in 2000. A sixth NEC title followed in 2010, delivering the program's first-ever FCS playoff berth. Robert Morris has since moved between the Big South and Northeast Conference before returning to the NEC in 2024.
