Bucknell Bison

The Bucknell Bison represent Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, a founding member of the FCS-level Patriot League. The program blends a long football history with the academic rigor Bucknell is known for. Bison football has had several successful stretches within the conference since the Patriot League's formation. Bucknell's football team was established in 1883, one of the older programs in the country, tracing its origins to an early matchup against Lafayette College. The Bison became a founding, football-only member of the Patriot League in 1986. Bucknell won its first Patriot League championship in 1996 and added multiple additional conference titles between 2002 and 2009.
