Navy Midshipmen

The Navy Midshipmen bring one of college football's most distinctive identities to the field, running the triple-option offense in service of the U.S. Naval Academy. Navy's rivalry with Army is one of the sport's greatest traditions, and the program's discipline and toughness reflect its military roots. Despite recruiting under unique constraints, the Midshipmen have remained nationally competitive for well over a century. Now a member of the American Athletic Conference, Navy continues its long tradition as one of the sport's most respected programs.

Navy football was established in 1879, making it one of the oldest programs in the country. The Midshipmen share the 1926 national championship with Stanford and Alabama, and the 1910 team went undefeated and unscored upon apart from a single tie. Navy operated as an independent for 134 years before joining the American Athletic Conference in 2015, winning the league's West Division in both 2015 and 2016. The program has produced 19 College Football Hall of Famers and three Hall of Fame coaches across its long history.
