The Houston Christian Huskies are among the newest programs in FCS football, representing Houston Christian University (formerly Houston Baptist) in the Southland Conference. Still building its winning tradition, the program is defined by steady growth rather than a long championship history, with a young fan base rallying around every step forward. The Huskies play their home games at on-campus Husky Stadium.
Houston Christian fielded its first football team in a developmental 2013 season and joined the Southland Conference as a full FCS member in 2014, debuting Husky Stadium that same year. The program was known as Houston Baptist until the university's 2021 rebrand. Houston Christian has not yet won a conference championship or reached the FCS playoffs, and remains one of the newer, developing programs in the Southland.
