The McNeese Cowboys are one of the Southland Conference's most storied programs, riding for Lake Charles, Louisiana out of Cowboy Stadium. With a long history of conference dominance and consistent FCS playoff appearances, McNeese has built one of the deepest championship trophy cases in the league, wrapped in the program's signature blue and gold.
McNeese fielded its first football team in 1940 and has won fourteen Southland Conference championships, including titles in 1976, 1979, 1980, 1993, 1995, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, and 2015 among others.
