Overview
The Arkansas State Red Wolves are one of the Sun Belt's most consistent winners, playing home games at Centennial Bank Stadium in Jonesboro. Scarlet and black Red Wolves teams have piled up conference titles across multiple eras and leagues, with a standout run under Hugh Freeze in the early 2010s. Arkansas State has developed a reputation as a launching pad for coaches who go on to Power Four jobs. The program remains a fixture atop the Sun Belt West standings.
History & Legacy
Arkansas State's football program was founded in 1911 and has competed in the Sun Belt Conference since 2001. The Red Wolves have won 13 conference championships across their history, including seven Southland Conference titles (1963-1986) and multiple Sun Belt titles, most recently in 2016. The program also claims a 1970 NCAA College Division national championship. Under first-year coach Hugh Freeze, Arkansas State went a perfect 8-0 in Sun Belt play in 2011 en route to back-to-back conference titles.
