Montana State Bobcats

The Montana State Bobcats are one of the true powerhouses of FCS football, playing in front of a raucous home crowd at Bobcat Stadium in Bozeman. Behind a fierce in-state rivalry with Montana and a run of championship-caliber teams, the Bobcats have become synonymous with big-time college football at the FCS level, blending tradition with sustained modern success.

Montana State's program has won national championships across three different levels of competition -- NAIA, NCAA Division II, and NCAA Division I FCS -- a distinction unmatched nationally. After title runs in 1956, 1976, and 1984, the Bobcats returned to the sport's biggest stage, reaching back-to-back FCS championship games in 2021 and 2024 before breaking through with a dramatic overtime win over Illinois State to capture the 2025 FCS national championship.
