Campbell Fighting Camels

The Campbell Fighting Camels play home games at Barker-Lane Stadium in Buies Creek, North Carolina, a program that revived football after decades of dormancy to become a competitive CAA Football member. The Camels carry a resilient, rebuilding-program identity, having relaunched varsity football from scratch in the modern scholarship era.

Campbell fielded football teams as far back as 1925 as a junior-college program, winning multiple North Carolina Junior College championships before discontinuing the sport for decades. The program was revived with athletic scholarships in 2008, joined the Big South Conference in 2018, and moved into CAA Football in 2023 alongside the rest of the athletic department.
