Make It Out Of The Group!
There’s no question that the past couple world cups have been German memory’s to forget to say the least. Germany is ranked 10th in the world in 2026 and hope to put the past demons to rest.
In WCQ they had 5 wins and just one loss. They scored 16 goals and conceded 3. Nick Woltemade scored 4 of the 16 goals. The first game of their qualifying they lost 2-0 to Slovakia. As you could imagine that caused some concern around Germany.
Germany plays a 4-2-3-1 trying to control possession. They like to play with the ball in control and make their opponents chase them around. Germany has fluid attacking and versatile players. They lack quality coming off the bench and clutch goal scoring. They don’t have a crazy impressive midfield like the top nations but they when they play at their best they can be dangerous. They played a friendly match against the US that they won 2-1. They crumbled under the Americans pressure that was put on them in the first half. Allowing around 8 first half corners.
There is no doubt that Germany has top level talent from clubs across Europe. Germany has a good line of youth and veteran experience. David Raum RB Leipzig, Nico Schlotterbeck Dortmund, Johnathan Tah Munich, and Joshua Kimmich Munich will most likely be the starting four defenders. Kimmich is actually listed as a midfielder but I think he will play rightback.
The midfield is well, mid. Up top you got Arsenals Kai Havertz. He will definitely be leaving his finger prints all over this German attack. Newcastles Nick Woltemade will be a strong goal scorer and provide some reliable support. And you also have Florian Wirtz from Liverpool. He’s 23 and has a match average of 7.03 in the prem after 34 appearances.
Sitting in group E Germany is the favorite to win their group and advance to the knockouts. But, we’ve all heard that story before. Ecuador could cause some trouble and Ivory Coast as a solid team. Sorry Curaçao but um, we’re happy your here 🙂.
I like Germany to win this group and advance to the knockouts. I don’t know about them making a deep run with the lack of depth. Like my boi says I have some German blood in me, I know family from Germany. Other than the United States of America I will be cheering for Germany. Go Germany 🇩🇪
