Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers play in Arlington's Globe Life Field, a retractable-roof ballpark that shields fans and players from the brutal Texas summer heat. After decades as a franchise defined by prolific offenses but postseason heartbreak, the Rangers finally broke through with a championship, giving the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex a World Series banner. The team's blend of power hitting and, more recently, championship pitching has made Arlington one of the AL West's toughest environments for visitors.

The franchise began in 1961 as an expansion version of the Washington Senators before relocating to Arlington, Texas in 1972 and becoming the Rangers. Texas reached the World Series in back-to-back years in 2010 and 2011 under manager Ron Washington but fell short both times, including a heartbreaking Game 6 loss in 2011. Corey Seager and a deep roster finally delivered the franchise's first title in 2023, defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games.
