St. Louis City SC brought top-flight soccer to a city with a century-old soccer tradition, and the club's red-and-blue identity at CITYPARK has quickly become a point of civic pride. Built in a soccer hotbed known for producing U.S. national team talent, the club leaned into that legacy from its very first season. City SC's aggressive, attacking style helped it make an immediate mark in the Western Conference. The club's rapid rise stands as one of the most remarkable expansion-team starts in MLS history.

St. Louis City SC was established in 2019 as the league's 28th franchise and began play in 2023. In its inaugural season, the club became the first expansion team ever to win a conference's regular-season title, capturing the Western Conference and the Supporters' Shield with 17 wins in its debut campaign. St. Louis was upset in the first round of the playoffs that year by eighth-seeded Sporting Kansas City. The club has not yet won an MLS Cup but remains one of the league's most closely watched young franchises.
