The New York Knicks are one of the NBA's original franchises and a cornerstone of the sport's biggest media market, playing home games at the world-famous Madison Square Garden. After a 53-year title drought, the blue-and-orange are champions again — Jalen Brunson and the "Nova Knicks" core turned Madison Square Garden back into the league's loudest postseason address. Few fan bases waited longer or celebrated harder when the drought finally ended in June 2026.

Founded in 1946 as one of the NBA's charter franchises, the Knicks won back-to-back championships in 1970 and 1973 behind Hall of Famers Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, and Bill Bradley. The team reached the Finals in 1994 and 1999 without another title before a Brunson-led resurgence in the 2020s. New York swept Cleveland in the 2026 Eastern Conference Finals and beat San Antonio in five games to win its third NBA championship, with Brunson named Finals MVP after a 45-point closeout in Game 5.
