Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are the NFL's newest AFC South franchise, playing in the retractable-roof comfort of NRG Stadium in Texas' largest city. Deep steel blue and battle red define the Texans' look, paired with a bull logo that nods to Houston's rodeo heritage. As one of the league's youngest teams, the Texans have spent their history building a foundation and, more recently, an exciting young core. Houston's passionate football culture has fully embraced its NFL franchise since day one.

The Texans were awarded to Houston in 1999 and began play in 2002, becoming the league's 32nd franchise and filling the void left when the original Houston Oilers relocated to Tennessee in 1997. The franchise made steady progress through the 2010s under quarterback Deshaun Watson and later found a new era of success behind rookie sensation C.J. Stroud, who helped lead Houston to the playoffs and earned Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2023. The Texans have not yet reached a Super Bowl but have become a consistent AFC South contender in recent seasons.
