The Canucks joined the NHL as an expansion franchise in 1970, becoming the first NHL team based in Vancouver. The club has reached the Stanley Cup Final three times, losing to the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994, and the Boston Bruins in 2011 in a series that ended in a heartbreaking Game 7. The twin-led era of Henrik and Daniel Sedin defined the franchise's most successful stretch in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Vancouver and Buffalo remain the NHL's two oldest franchises to have never won a Stanley Cup.
