Kelsey Glides past A’ja

Kelsey Mitchell came out of this game with a loss, but managed to set a crazy record. She now holds the record for most consecutive 20-point games in WNBA history with her 21st tonight. She breaks the record previously held by A’ja Wilson. What makes this even more impressive is that this streak has been fully contained in this season. Meaning Kelsey Mitchell is the only player in WNBA history to have a 20-game streak of 20+ point games in a single season ever. A’ja is the only other player to have a single season streak of 15.

Most Points Ever in Opener

As the W begins it's 30th Season we were blessed with the most points scored in an opening game. The 211 combined point total (107 for Dallas, 104 for Indiana) set the tone for what promises to be the best season yet. It's also the the first season opener in league history where both teams scored 100 points.

This was the first WNBA game in South Dakota. The preseason matchup between the Phoenix Mercury and Chicago Sky was held on April 25, 2026 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. The Phoenix Mercury defeated the Chicago Sky 108-104 before a sold-out crowd.
