    “ITS COMING HOME”

    “ITS COMING HOME”

England enters the 2026 World Cup as one of the favorites to win the tournament. But, English fans around the world have heard that before and hope to bring the trophy back home for the first time since 1966. In WCQ we saw England go 8-0-0 not losing or even conceding a single goal. They scored 22 goals and who else than Harry Kane scored 8 of the 22. The premier league champion Declan Rice had 4 assists also. England plays a 4-2-3-1 formation and has a high intensity type of play. They will focus on maintaining possession and frustrating their opponents. They are very good at keeping possession, one of the best out there. They have all the star power in the world as we know. Jude the dude, Harry Kanne, the list goes on. They often are vulnerable to getting counter attacked, they also don’t have a back up plan other than hope Harry Kane and Jude to score a banger. You know I have to mention the legend Harry Maguire. He was left out of the national team for good reason that I’m not getting into. I just wanted to say his name in her, it would not be a true English football preview without him. I’m a huge fan of Pickford, I hope he gets the start in goalie, he can be a very strong keeper and has history with this team. They have elite wingers in Rashford and Saka. Yes Rashfords elite fight me. Rice and Anderson will be in the midfield. Both of those guys will do what they do I’m not worried about them. The defense is not as strong as the offense but that’s a high bar to compare, I like the defense I think they’ll do fine. Straight bias right here, I’m a huge Eze fan and I hope he gets to show the world how incredible he is. Just wait for a goal in the 76th minute against Croatia. I’m a big England supporter, I think they can absolutely win this tournament. But as we know it’s not that easy. Sitting in group L I think they’ll top the group. I got them beating Croatia pretty bad. It’s the knockouts that scare me, I feel like some unlucky own goal is going to occur in the round of 16 in like the 86th minute that sends England home. In all seriousness it might actually be coming home. I’m not saying start the padre just yet but it’s looking good.

    No Neymar No Problem?

After Neymar was selected to the Brazilian national team the immediate question was when can he play? Now two games into the tournament Brazil tied Morocco and beat Haiti without Neymar. As we know Neymar is not the player he was 12 years ago in the 2014 World Cup. He can’t move like he used to and he’s had a rough couple years. The question is the Brazil team has been playing pretty decent without him, does Brazil need to add Neymar at all? Is it worth possible throwing off the chemistry that these players have built the past couple months? We cant answer those questions but we can maybe answer the question of when he returns. From what Ive read I think he could potentially return against Scotland in their last match of the group stage. He will mostly come off the bench in that game if he is fit to play. One things certain about Neymar, he will give it his all. After tearing his ACL he said that the recovery was the hardest thing he’s ever had to do and he seriously considered retiring. But he wanted to be back out there with his teammates fighting. He only played 8 matches with Santos FC but he scored 4 goals and had 2 assists with a match average of 7.5. Also, he’s not that old he’s 34. He could definitely make a mark and continue to add to his legacy of great Brazilian footballers. Only time will tell if Neymar can show up and deliver.

    United States

    United We Advance

With Paraguay’s victory over Turkey, the United States officially finish on top of Group D and punch their ticket to the knockout stage just 9 days in. The Americans opened the tournament with back-to-back victories, matching a feat not accomplished by a U.S. men's national team in 96 years. The last time it happened was the 1930 World Cup in Uruguay, where the United States defeated Belgium and Paraguay en route to a third-place finish. The energy and momentum surrounding this team is starting to feel like something special is brewing on home soil. To be continued....

    Cold Turkey

Some impossible stats coming from Turkey in their two World Cup games in 2026 including, but certainly not limited to, the following: • SIXTY TWO (62!) shots • 102 touches in their opponents’ penalty box • 75% possession Zero goals scored. Eliminated before their third group game. In fact, the last time Turkey won a World Cup game was in 2002 when they came in 3rd place. I swear it felt like they had 40 shots on goal tonight against Paraguay I cannot believe they didn't score a single goal. A reminder at how tough it is break through on the world stage.
