Jurickson Profar Makes History

With Profar’s second PED suspension, he joins a rare group of players who've been suspended for PED’s more than once. Profar is the ninth player to hold this honor, following Jenrry Mejia, Robinson Cano, Guillermo Mota, Neifi Perez, Manny Ramirez, Francis Martes, Marlon Byrd, and J.C. Mejía. Some suspended players have more interesting stories than others. Bryd is the only player to receive one of his two suspensions as a free agent. Jenrry Meija is the only player to receive three suspensions and a ban from baseball. Profar is one of just three players to receive multiple PED suspensions on the same team, joining Neifi Perez with the Tigers and J.C. Mejía on the Brewers. After signing with the Atlanta Braves prior to the 2025 season, Profar will end up spending half of the games in his three-year contract suspended by MLB.

These two individuals share the exact same name, same profession, some position, drafted by the same team, mostly hit towards the bottom of the order, and don’t even know each other. Mookie Betts hits his 300th home run against the Minnesota Twins on June 24, 2026. Mookie has been struggling this year but looks to bounce back and get back to the form we all know he can play at. Mookie is the 167th MLB player to have 300 or more home runs in his career.
