The 60 Year Wait: Spain vs Argentina is Back

In this world cup final Argentina will face Spain for the first time in a competitive game since the 1966 world cup, where the former won 2-1 in the group stages. While they have had multiple friendlies since (the last being a Spanish 6-1 win in 2018 involving an Isco hatrick) the world cup final this year is a rare competitve meeting between the two nations.

España avanza!

Spain has taken down France and will advance to the World Cup Final at MetLife stadium on Sunday. They will play the winner of England-Argentina tomorrow night. Spain is heading back to the World Cup Final for the first time in 16 years, last time they made the final they won the tournament in 2010. This is Spains second World Cup Final appearance. The champions of Europe have the chance to become champions of the world on Sunday.

The manager with a hundred-percent win rate

In 2009, the former czech international František Straka took over the czech national team as a bit of an emergency hire. His first (and last) game he coached was against Malta. The team won 1-nil, thanks to the goal of Tomáš Necid in the 77th minute. He coached the team for 50 more days, though he did not coach any other matches. The Czech Football Federation (FAČR) did not, however, renew his contract, leaving him as one of the few coaches in the history of the sport with a one hundred-percent win rate.

Corruption in the U.S.A?

The FIFA World Cup 2026 has been filled with Red Cards but the most controversial Red Card was handed to Florarin Balogun of the United States of America. In the round of 32 against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Goal scorer that day and stand out player of the US team committed a very very risky challenge against Bosnian player Muharemovic, after VAR review it was determined that this was a Red Card for Balogun and he would get a one game suspension and not be able to play against Belgium in the round of 16. BUT on July 5th US president Donald Trump called up FIFA and asked them to lift the suspension on Balogun and allow him to play against Belgium. And guess what? They did lift the suspension. People have called this blatant corruption from FIFA and to be honest I don’t blame them as we have never seen something like this before but you can’t blame the people saying it’s the right call either as to be honest it was a 50/50 decision between a yellow card and a red card. Belgium has protested against this decision and will protest after the game. But take your pick is this very blatant corruption between FIFA and the USA? Or was this decision the right one? (Pls don’t be biased)
