When the Spurs beat the Lakers, I called this Thunder-Spurs matchup David vs. Goliath except David is an alien. That alien didn’t come to Vegas just happy to be there. He came to WIN. While Wemby is likely not 100% (considering he didn’t start), it feels like he never left. Any time he was on the floor, he was shifting the balance of power. Very Jokic-esque impact against the Thunder. Feels like ages since we’ve had a close Thunder game and it made up for the wait. Except the vibe-killing late fouls and free throws. I know it’s good strategy, but it’s never fun to watch a guy shoot 2 free throws, call timeout and then watch another 2 free throws. It kills the tension, especially when it could be a game tying shot. Besides that, this was a great game. It wasn’t just Wemby. Vassell, Fox and Castle came up huge. Just a shame this had such a bummer ending.”
