“App State is still living off the reputation they built during this game 19 years later!! In 2008 the University reported a 15% increase in the amount of applications the school got compared to 2007. It helped to begin to grow App State into one of the bigger small school brands and helped App State get to FBS in 2014. Another fun fact I found when reading online was this was the first game on BTN Network which is kinda funny to me that they put this powerhouse on for the first game of their brand new network and then they lost to an FCS school! Classic for any CFB fan!”
