“This Jacob DeGrom guy seems good at throwing the baseball. Yeah, most of our lineup was terrible; I don’t care (for now). DeGrom was absolutely dealing, and he achieved a career milestone while helping Texas get a vital win. DeGrom becomes the 2nd fastest in terms of both appearances and innings pitched to reach 2000 strikeouts in all of MLB history. Personally, I think he'll make it to Cooperstown, and he had a Hall of Fame-calibre performance in this game. He got the milestone out of the way immediately, striking out the first 2 batters and then proceeded to strike out 8 more batters while only allowing 2 base runners in 6 innings. Only 3 Rangers batters did anything valuable. Seager continued his in-season comeback with a home run and a double; Duran continued his shockingly good season with a triple, and Foscue went 2-for-2 at the plate. Really need more guys to contribute, but when DeGrom has alien performances like the one he had in this game, it's enough... for now.”
