“Raptors lose a game that was worse than the final score says. After watching this game, I’ve come to terms with the fact that this team just isn’t that good. Maybe I should’ve accepted that sooner, but now I can it with confidence. I cannot say whether that is the fault of ownership the general manager, players, or coaches. All I can say for certain is the ceiling of the Raptors is 2nd round. They’re not winning more than a single playoff series with the way they are constructed. There are good pieces here. Scottie Barnes is a great player who I will argue to death for 3rd team all-NBA and 1st team all-defense. It’s hard to make those arguments when he has games like this. His playmaking and defense were fantastic (except when he was guarding Duren); yet, his scoring touch was missing. 5 points in a game we lost by 11 is unacceptable. RJ, BI3, Lawson, Mamu and CMB were all good-to-great. Walter was horrific, Poeltl looked outmatched and Shead couldn’t hit a shot. Something is missing.”
