“All-Whites and the Pharaohs... this could go any way for Iran, but a draw would definitely be best, and then an Egypt win, and then a New Zealand win. And New Zealand is the one to get on the board first, Surman in the 15th minute on a lucky shot, it is 1-0 New Zealand. They went immediately to preserve the lead, as a win would give them a monster chance to qualify out of the group. They headed into halftime with the lead, and I actually started to believe in them. But who I labeled pre world cup as Iran's "toughest challenge in the group stage" AKA Egypt, AKA (in Iran) Misr, nevermind the name. They tied it. Okay, I could deal with a draw, but this is TOO much time for it to end in a draw. Salah grabs the lead for Egypt in the 67th, and they cap it off with another goal 15 minutes later. A two goal win is tough, but it also helps Iran cushion themselves should NZL draw and Iran lose third matchday. But the task is simple for Team Meli, AT LEAST one point, we would like three tho. ”
