The first half was fun and I thought we were in for a good battle. That was not the case. The Valkyries managed to find some offense in the second half and cruise to a victory. The Lynx had a rough shooting night and really no one played that well. I guess Howard was okay. Golden State had 5 players in double figures. Hayes wasn’t the top score, but she did have a nice shooting night. Maybe it was just a defense kind of night.

It could be very interesting if this result ends up affecting the race for the 1 seed. This game on its own though, was not great. I went into this thinking this would be an amazing match with both teams going back and forth with some huge shots and the first half did look like that, but Golden State made sure that wasn’t the case in the second half. The Valkyries had a solid lead for most of the third quarter, and they really started to pour it in the fourth. A huge cold spell from the Lynx really helped propel Golden State to a humongous advantage. The Valkyries played an insanely strong game on the road as they finally secure their first win against Minnesota all time
