“It looked horrible for the Mystics at first. Giving up a 14-2 run in less than 5 minutes to the defending champs is just about the worst way to start the game. Definitely not putting yourselves in a position to win. However, to their credit, they fought through it. They climbed the mountain and turned an early blowout into a close battle. The Aces often pulled away briefly only for the Mystics to make it close again. Sadly, a 9-0 run in less than 2 minutes midway through the 4th quarter crushed Washington’s spirits. Shakira tried her damndest to make this game close again, but Vegas kept their distance and eventually strolled to victory. As always, A’ja played a major role in Vegas’s success, however, she wasn’t the star tonight. Instead it was her co-star Jackie Young that stole the show. That 9-0 run that clinched victory was all Jackie. She was cooking and the Mystics were left charred from the heat. Sometimes great teams and great players get hot and you can’t stop them. It happens”
