“We're back at Chase Center for season 2 of the Golden State Valkyries' horrifying homecourt. They face off against the Phoenix Mercury, fresh off their blowout of the Aces. Probably should've gotten a break. Valkyries are still the well-oiled machine of expansion pain. Gabby Williams has 19 points in her introduction to Ballhalla. Alyssa Thomas has a near-tripe double with 19 PTS, 9 REB and 11 AST. Janelle Salaun, off the bench dropped 21 (!) and the Mercury fall, even after concerted efforts in the second half. I guess that's the consequences of a turnover-a-plenty ball game, alongside Golden State's 10 steals to 2, AND the Valkyries dominating in the paint. Aaugh.”
