Julius Randle’s 94th 30-point game in his career and the Timberwolves definitely needed it. You may think that’s silly when you look at the final score, but looking at the distribution of scoring on Minnesota tells the story. Only 3 Wolves scored double digits points, Randle, Ant and Naz. Sure, Gobert’s role is to be an elite defender and he did his job. However, Ant shot very poorly which meant the Wolves needed a guy to step up and supply the offensive punch they needed. Randle provided that so they won. Unfortunately, this game probably should’ve been easier for the Wolves considering Flagg didn’t even suit up. Brandon Williams was giving Minnesota fits as was PJ Washington. Didn’t matter in the end. Minnesota shut them down long enough to build a lead they would never give up. Perhaps, if Flagg plays in this game, Dallas would’ve won. That’s what someone might say. What I say, is that it’s hard to win any game when a team out rebounds you by 10+, just ask the 2016 Spurs, iykyk.
