“All the roads of controversy have brought us here and thankfully we got a pretty good first half, only for it to taper off in the 2nd half. The Americans looked very nervous. At the very least, they looked unprepared as Belgium peppered them early before breaking through with a goal from De Ketelaere finding the gap in USA’s defence. That goal appeared to wake something up in the USA because they began to get more into the game. Tillman once again put all of USA’s rage into a free kick and beat Courtois to level the game. The crowd got loud and the players got hyped, surely the beginning of a rally. Instead, De Ketelaere scored in less than 2 minutes, killing that momentum. USA technically still had life in the 2nd half, but Freese’s costly error when he stubbed his toe killed any hope the USA had. They looked broken and played like a broken team for the last 40 minutes. Lukaku just nailed the final nail in their coffin. USA couldn’t get their attack going nor stop Belgian efficiency. ”
