The Sun (hopefully soon-to-be Comets) lose another game in their depressing walk to relocation. Even though I am rooting for the return of the Houston Comets, I do sympathize with Connecticut Sun fans, never easy to see a team leave. Even harder when the last season is tough to watch. Just ask Oakland A’s fans. Unfortunately this game is no different. The only reason is looks kinda close is because LA just chilled out for the last quarter and a half. If the Sparks had wanted to break records (or hated Connecticut for whatever reason), they could’ve won by 30. Saniya Rivers doesn’t deserve this. Meanwhile, we can officially enjoy the retirement tour of Nneka Ogwumike she adds to her lead as the WNBA’s all-time leader in rebounds among active players (3rd all-time). Still, Burrell was the obvious star. 20 points along with a couple rebounds and assist as well as 3 steals and blocks. The Sparks blotted out the Sun, not much more to it. Hopefully Connecticut thinks back on the good times.

If the Sun could shoot a little better they would have won this game. They took 21 more shots than the Sparks and still lost and LA turned it over 24 as well. It was a competitive game but a bit sloppyat times. Rae Burrell led the Sparks with 20 points. Ogwumike, Wheeler and Atkins were all in double figures with Ogwumike having a double-double. Hopefully she at least goes out with a few more wins.
