“Close game until the 6th and even then I still thought the game was in the balance. The Marlins had their chances to scrap out a win despite themselves. They just couldn’t execute when they needed to most. Better than getting a whooping for sure, but how do you let Alec Bohm clutch up on you twice? Marlins went with an opener and opted for a bullpen game. I’ll never be a big fan of it, but it looked like it was going to work… until Michael Peterson’s turn came up and we entered the 6th inning. It was a bad omen when he hit the first batter he faced. The Phillies battered him before the Marlins brought in Tyler Phillips who couldn’t fully stop the bleeding without giving Marlins fans some aneurysms right before. To make that sequence even worse, Miami had just caught a break in the top of the inning, only to have it be wasted. Marlins made it interesting in the final 2 innings, even cutting into their 3-run deficit, but it wasn’t enough to scare the Phillies. Not pretty, just effective.”
