“A truly historic moment, the Toronto Tempo’s first ever win and they got it in a pretty good game too. Seattle wasn’t going to be an easy matchup and they proved that in the first half. The Storm were electric from the field while Toronto was having some issues. The Tempo managed to flip the script on both accounts. The player of the game is easily Marina Mabrey. The Tempo don’t win without her 3-pointers falling, but the real game changer was the Tempo’s defense. They took a Storm offense that was chugging and slowed them down in the 3rd before completely shutting them down in the 4th. You could say they dictated the tempo ;). In all seriousness, this was a genuinely great moment for the Tempo. I can only imagine it was similar when the Raptors won their first game as a franchise. The game itself was probably closer to a 6 or the number after 6 if I just focus on the play. However, the historic nature of this game gives it a boost. Let’s hope there are less growing pains than the Raps”
