“After a brutal joint practice with Baltimore, the Commanders came into Friday night with something to prove — and instead got another dose of reality. The Ravens set the tone early, jumping out to a 14–0 lead while Washington’s defense struggled badly with tackling. By halftime, it was 24–0, and whether the starters were out there or not, Dan Quinn summed it up best: it simply wasn’t good enough. Three numbers tell the story: 1-of-12 on third down, 4.0 yards per play compared to Baltimore’s 6.6, and 195 Ravens rushing yards at 6.5 per carry. Washington was beaten at the line of scrimmage, couldn’t sustain drives, and couldn’t get off the field. It’s preseason, but after the joint practice and this performance, there’s plenty to clean up before Week 1.”
