“The WNBA all-star game started out fun only to fall into the pit traps that the MNBA falls into. Kelsey Plum summed it up perfectly when she said: “next year, we make this competitive”. The first 1.5 quarters were easily the best part. I may be bias because that was also the time when Marina Mabrey was on fire. She looked like the best player on the floor as both teams went back and forth with quick shots, hitting most of them. Sure, the defense wasn’t 100%, but it felt like a pickup game, which is exactly what an all-star game should be. As long as it remained close, it’d be fun. Unfortunately it did not remain close. The final score may make you think it was close, but this game felt decided for basically 2 quarter, maybe 2.5. It picked up a little bit in the 4th, but I never thought Team Coop had a chance. Worst of all… Marney’s jump shot went cold. In all seriousness, this wasn’t the worst game, but it definitely suffered from many all-star-related problems, just like the MNBA. ”
