“When it came out that Sykes and Morrow were out for the rest of the season, I knew we were cooked. To be honest, I’m surprised this wasn’t a bigger blowout. That statement doesn’t mean it wasn’t a blowout. Just not as big as I thought it would be, which isn’t saying much. Las Vegas still won by double digits and A’ja Wilson still dominated, both were expected. What I didn’t expect was Toronto hanging on for so long. It was only a 4-point game at halftime. Hell, part way through the 3rd it was still in the balance. Even if you thought Vegas had the edge (which they did), it was not a forgone conclusion. Fortunately the end of the 3rd and start of the 4th made the end inevitable. Aces could’ve won by 15 or 20, but they settled for a 10-point win. How kind of them. Another surprise was the double Ks, Kiki Rice and Kia Nurse. Kiki hasn’t been amazing, but she’s shown real signs of having a good floor while Nurse had a good game off the bench, leading the team in scoring. Would love more.”
