This is a pleasant surprise. Hawks get a very valuable win in their mission to cling to the play-in. You live by the 3 and die by the 3. The 2018 Rockets and 2021 Jazz know all about that. These Celtics got a preview to that possibility. Despite shooting a ton of 3s and being quite good at it, Atlanta made that a real challenge tonight. Credit to the Celtics, they switched up their philosophy and attacked the paint. It probably would’ve worked better if the Hawks weren’t on fire from downtown. The Hawks are another great 3 point shooting team and my goodness they showed it off tonight. 44% from 3, nearly as well as the Celtics shot from everywhere tonight. NAW led the way with five 3s on 12 shots, followed closely behind by Trae Young trade piece Corey Kispert and all-around demon Jalen Johnson who also grabbed 14 boards while playing great defense. Jaylen Brown certainly go acquainted with him and struggled in part because of it. Celtics couldn’t find a rhythm until it was too late.
