Heavyweight fight. That’s what this game was. I’m not only saying that because it was a battle between two of the very best teams in the NBA. This was also a WAR on the glass. Jokic, Valanciunas and Duren were engaged in sumo matches. Why do I not mention another Piston? Because Duren set up many of those Pistons rebounds with his box-outs. If Jokic or Jonas were not on the floor, he was dominating the glass. If one of them was out there, he was battling with them. Awesome to watch. On top of having some great battles under the basket, game was a tale of two halves. In the first half. The Nuggets shot just 32% from the field while Detroit shot nearly 60%. In the second half, Denver shot nearly 60% and the Pistons were close to 40%. Still, thanks to some clutch rebounds from Jalen Duren, the Pistons held on during a late Nuggets rally. That Harris 3 that barely bounced in was a sign. In spite of the bad officiating, I got a lot of joy from this game. Plus, Cade had a great night.
