The NBA Berlin Game, surely made to spread the influence of basketball into Germany with the power of the Wagner brothers. Also, this is part 1 of the Magic and Grizzlies’ journey across Europe. Although I’m sure the Magic were the story on German circles coming into the game, the Grizzlies were looking to give the Wagners a loss in their home country. Neither brother was bad, but they were a bit invisible early on. Memphis jumped out to a big lead, finished the 1st up 16 and eventually got up 20 in the 2nd. Call it team cohesion, the Magic waking up or the Grizzlies regressing to the mean, whatever you call it, the Magic closed the gap rapidly. Made it close going into the 4th and pulled away in the final minutes. At first, it was Banchero and Bane leading the way, Franz Wagner took over in the last 5 minutes and Anthony Black completely steered momentum in their favour when he dunked on 4 GRIZZLIES! Sure, it had a slow start, but it became great down the stretch.
