“Both a surprising and vital win for LA and one that comes with relative ease. Going into this series, with no Luka and no Reaves, everyone said that a shooter would have to step up. Well, one of them stepped up. Coming into this game, Luke Kennard’s career high in playoff points was 21 and his career high in 3s was 4. He has set new playoff career highs in both categories with his remarkable performance here today. Gotta also give credit to LeBron. Although there is plenty of things he can no longer do, the one aspect that will never go away is his playmaking and he used it to its max here. The Rockets had a 2-point lead twice in the first 2 minutes of the game and never led again. That fact is a credit to the Lakers’ defense actually putting up some resistance and the Rockets being a mess. The intrigue became just watching if the Lakers could hang on, which they did. Besides general pessimism around the Lakers, it never felt like the Rockets had a chance. The vibes in Houston are bad”
