MLB • Field of Dreams Game08/12/2021

The one thing that baseball has over the Big Four is pageantry. The uniforms, the routines, the unwritten rules. To bring this idea to life and then have it play out the way it did is why sports can feel like magic. I felt like a little kid watching the giants Judge and Stanton slug moonshots into the corn to bring them all the way back. Then Tim Anderson just cracks one and caps a 6 run ninth inning to walk it off. Surreal game. Why they haven't done it every year since is beyond me. This one will be all but impossible to top but who cares, I'll be watching!

such a fun concept that the MLB absolutely nailed from the beginning. the whole presentation of this game was perfect to a degree where it honestly didn't even matter if the game was bad. fortunately, the game was awesome and we got a 6 run 9th inning ending on a walkoff for the white sox. i dream of a sandlot version of this one day but for now this is good enough.
